Tesla’s new Roadster climbed a backward-curving ramp and hung on upside down
Tesla’s new Roadster climbed a backward-curving ramp and hung on upside down.
At Tesla’s demo on the evening of October 15, the self-driving car climbed the ramp, held on upside down, left the ramp inverted, then steadied itself with thrusters and landed. Tesla says a fan and ground-sealing system under the car creates enough suction to hold it upside down even while stationary.
Tesla says the same fans, together with active wings, produce strong downforce even at zero speed. Musk says production starts in 2028.
