Oracle sent a force majeure notice over its OpenAI-linked New Mexico data center
This story was corrected after publication (Oct. 9, 2026). Details
The notice went to a Blue Owl unit developing the 1,400-acre Project Jupiter campus in Doña Ana County, citing delays in securing power. It would let the company defer payments should the site miss its 2028 target. The campus is part of Oracle’s agreement to supply capacity to OpenAI and of Stargate. A natural gas pipeline meant to start service in mid-August and fuel the site was pushed back nearly six months to February 1, 2027. Oracle shares fell on the news.

Corrections and updates
