Boston Dynamics opened a center that teaches Atlas robots to work in a Hyundai plant
The Robotics Metaplant Application Center opened on September 21 inside the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America campus near Savannah, Georgia. Atlas robots are being trained first on parts logistics and assembly sequencing, expanding to component assembly by 2030. The center moves to a new building on the same campus in 2027, growing to about ten times its present size. Hyundai Motor Group plans to deploy 25,000 Atlas units across Hyundai and Kia plants over the next few years.
