UMG and Sony sued Suno a second time over its v6 models
The complaint, filed on September 18 in Boston federal court, alleges 60,202 sound recordings were copied. They follow the 61,026 recordings the labels tried to add to the first case in May; Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV refused that request in August and said they could be brought as a separate suit. The labels’ argument: Suno trained its new v6 models on the outputs of its earlier models, which does not eliminate the infringement, it launders it.
