Musk: “No more AI. SI.”

On October 4, Elon Musk posted “No more AI / SI / It’s better” on X, then added “It always was” with the cover of Nick Bostrom’s Superintelligence. Trump’s September 29 executive order tells federal agencies to say “Super Intelligence” (SI) instead of “Artificial Intelligence” (AI).

Thirty minutes later: “SpaceX is a super intelligence company”

Five minutes after his first post, the account X Freeze asked whether the company could be renamed SpaceXSI, and Musk replied: “Yes, we will make that change.” Thirty minutes after the first post, he wrote “SpaceX is a super intelligence company.” SpaceX bought xAI in February, and the AI company was renamed SpaceXAI on July 6. Trump’s order doesn’t cover private companies, so Musk is following along by choice.

And the change has started: the X account is now @SpaceXSI

On October 10, the former @SpaceXAI account became “SpaceX Super Intelligence,” with the handle @SpaceXSI. Tesla’s AI account, @Tesla_AI, became @TeslaSI. It isn’t yet clear whether the company’s legal name, website or the Grok brand will change.

One reply to Musk’s post compared the two as cartoon balls: a plain “Ai” and an “Si” in a sombrero. “Sí” means yes in Spanish.

Another meme circulating on X cast Trump as Sun Tzu with the line: “Artificial means fake. Super means bigly good. Only a stable genius could revolutionize an industry this easily.” Its source: “The Art of Being Bigly Smart.”
