According to The Information, the Beijing company raised $400 million across three rounds; it has not confirmed the figures. Tencent, IDG Capital and HSG are among the investors. Dai Jifeng, from Tsinghua, founded it in February 2026. None of the money goes to pre-training from scratch: the company refines existing open-weight models. Its first open-weight release is expected this month, which means the valuation has outrun the release calendar.

- After this story was published, Naive AI released its first open-weight model, Naive-N0.5-Flash, on Hugging Face on September 27 under the MIT license. It is a 309B-parameter mixture-of-experts model with 15.5B active parameters, built on the open-weight MiMo-V2.5 base model.
