Intel unveils GPU D270, an AI card with up to 480 GB of memory

Published: 4 sourcesTürkçe

At the OCP Global Summit, which opened October 12, Intel gave its Crescent Island data center GPU, first announced last year, a product name and full specs: GPU D270. Built only for AI inference, the card has 32 Xe3P cores and, according to Intel, delivers 1.3 petaflops of FP8 compute and 1.5 TB/s of memory bandwidth in an air-cooled, 350-watt design. Intel’s own card carries 160 GB of LPDDR5X memory, while partners can build versions with up to 480 GB. Choosing LPDDR5X over HBM buys capacity but leaves bandwidth well below HBM-based accelerators. Intel says a single card can run models of up to 300 billion parameters. Customer sampling is underway; pricing and a launch date have not been announced.
