AI chip startup Etched is fielding offers at $40-50 billion, about double its valuation of two months ago
AI chip startup Etched is reviewing investment offers that value it at $40 billion to $50 billion, TechCrunch reported on October 5, citing people familiar with the matter. Top-tier investors are offering around $40 billion, while lesser-known backers have gone as high as $50 billion. On August 18, Etched raised $700 million at a $21 billion valuation in a round led by Jane Street, only weeks after a July round at $10.3 billion. The company, which builds chips designed only for transformer models, declined to comment. The talks are early and terms could still change.
