Trump: Bessent will not be the AI czar
Semafor and Reuters had reported that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was being considered for the job. On September 25 Trump shut it down: Bessent will not be the Super Intelligence Czar because, number one, he doesn’t want to, and number two, he is doing such a great job at Treasury that Trump wants to keep him there. Last week Trump said he would appoint an AI czar and create an AI Force, without giving details. According to Semafor, other contenders include White House science and technology policy director Michael Kratsios and Office of Personnel Management director Scott Kupor.
