AWS is carrying a video model derived from live neuron measurements
This story was corrected after publication (Oct. 9, 2026). Details
The Biological Computing Co. is preparing to bring to market, through AWS, a video model improved with a software layer derived from measurements of living nerve cells. At its San Francisco lab, rat brain cells sit on multi-electrode silicon arrays where researchers send in electrical signals and record the responses, looking for computational patterns that can be written as software. The layer adds less than 0.1% on top of the model and runs entirely on conventional AI infrastructure. The company says its version, built on an open-source video model, cuts inference costs by 80% and generates 5 times faster. The biological cells stay in the lab.

Corrections and updates
- The version first posted on Instagram said the company was selling the software layer through AWS. According to the AWS press release, sales are still being planned and the product will be the video model improved with the layer; the text has been corrected.
