The laptops run Android with a desktop Chrome browser and familiar ChromeOS elements, and are built by Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo. Of the five models only Acer’s sells at $899; the rest reach $1,299. The selling point is Gemini, with features such as an AI-powered cursor and enhanced dictation. Hardware runs to 2.8K OLED displays, haptic glass trackpads and backlit keyboards. The package includes 12 months of Google AI Pro, and the devices get updates for up to 10 years. They ship in the US on October 4.

- According to Gizmodo on September 28, prices shifted after preorders opened: Dell dropped to $999, HP to $1,199 and Lenovo to between $1,050 and $1,099, while ASUS stayed at $1,299. Acer’s $899 is a limited-time price.
