The founders of DeepSeek and Moonshot were left off Xi’s US delegation
Beijing has not announced the delegation officially, but DeepSeek’s Liang Wenfeng and Moonshot AI’s Yang Zhilin are absent from the reported list. The South China Morning Post had earlier reported that executives from BYD, Xiaomi and CATL were expected to accompany Xi. Analysts read it as a choice to shield key AI people and keep the technology off the table. The picture on the US side is different: Jensen Huang, Tim Cook, Sam Altman, Albert Bourla and Mark Zuckerberg are among those attending the White House dinner for Xi.
