### Five new devices

On Oct. 28, Amazon announced five new home devices running the latest version of Alexa, along with Alexa Home Map, which shows connected devices on a three-dimensional map of the home. According to the company, hundreds of millions of customers are using the new Alexa experiences and talking to Alexa two to three times more than before.

The Echo Studio with Home Camera adds a built-in camera to the company's best-sounding speaker and went on sale for $249.99; the camera-free Echo Studio remains available for $219.99. The camera lets Alexa see and understand what is in front of it: in Amazon's examples, it can explain the rules of a board game whose box is held up to the camera, or recognize a box of cereal and help reorder it. Live View in the Alexa app lets owners check on the room remotely, and pairing the device with compatible Fire TVs for video calls is coming soon. Amazon says a dedicated button turns off the microphones and camera, and an LED lights up whenever the device streams images to the cloud.

The Echo Show 16 has been fully redesigned with a 16-inch full HD screen and Fire TV built in. According to Amazon, the screen is nearly 40% thinner with 10% more viewing area, and a Nanomatte option cuts glare by more than 90%. Its camera adds night vision, a first for an Echo Show. The device is available for preorder at $499.99 ($569.99 with Nanomatte) and will begin shipping later this year.

The new Echo Dot costs $99.99. It runs on Amazon's custom AZ3 chip with an AI accelerator for on-device processing and, for the first time, includes a built-in smart home hub supporting Zigbee, Matter and Thread, plus an eero Wi-Fi extender that adds up to 1,000 square feet of coverage. Amazon says it delivers 50% more bass than the previous generation. Echo Time, a camera-free bedside clock, costs $199.99 and uses Omnisense sleep sensing to detect lighter sleep and wake its owner within 10 to 60 minutes of a scheduled alarm. The Alexa Photo Frame, billed as the first photo frame with Alexa built in, has a 10-inch anti-glare touchscreen and costs $199.99 in black or $229 with a birch or walnut wood frame.

### Alexa Home Map

Alexa Home Map is an interactive 3D map of a home and property, inside and out. Echo devices, Ring and Blink cameras, Fire TV, lights, locks and thermostats appear where they actually sit in the home, and core functions, such as turning off lights, lowering the music volume or checking security cameras, can be controlled directly from the map. To build the map, users enter their address and the exterior of the home appears automatically; they then scan each room with a compatible iPhone and place their devices on the map.

The map updates in real time: smart lights glow in the color and brightness they are set to, the sky shifts from day to night and the weather matches the forecast. With compatible Ring cameras, a 360-degree aerial view of the property shows animations of people and cars moving outside, and the map flags when someone added to Familiar Faces comes to the door. An interactive timeline rewinds the last 24 hours across every camera at once. Some features require a Ring Protect Pro or Virtual Security Guard subscription.

Alexa Home Map will start rolling out in preview later this year on the Alexa Home Map app for iOS, the Alexa and Ring apps, larger Echo Show devices including the new Echo Show 16, the Amazon Ember Artline with Fire TV and the new Alexa tablets.

### Alexa+ and its price

According to Amazon, every new device comes with the latest version of Alexa, which holds more natural conversations, asks clarifying questions and coordinates across several sources at once to handle complex, multistep requests; some features require Alexa+. Alexa+, Amazon's next-generation assistant built on large language models, has been free for Prime members in the U.S. since February 2026; for others it costs $19.99 a month, and a free tier offers the Alexa+ chat experience on Alexa.com and in the Alexa app. Amazon says Alexa+ is powered by large language models from both Amazon Nova and Anthropic. Every Alexa Photo Frame also comes with 90 days of Alexa+.
